Biocompatible medical silicone with platinum catalysis – Silver-based antimicrobial agent – Pharmaceutical dyes.

100% Biocompatible Medical Silicone

The Claricup box is made of pharmaceutical grade polypropylene with a pharmaceutical dye.

We manufacture ClaricupTM in France

The ClaricupTM antimicrobial is made of medical grade silicone with an added silver-based antimicrobial agent. Silver has been used for a very long time to prevent the proliferation of pathogenic microorganisms. Today, it is found in many medical devices: catheters, dressings, etc…. in order to avoid the development of infections.

Our tests prove that the disinfection of an anti-microbial silicone menstrual cup is more effective than the disinfection of a conventional silicone menstrual cup. You are therefore less likely to reintroduce bacteria by reusing your ClaricupTM

All women are different and it is difficult to know the tone of your own perineum or the size of your own vagina. We therefore advise you to base your choice on your flow and the type of tampons or pads you used before. Please note that since menstrual cups are intimate objects and for hygienic reasons, we do not take back or exchange ClaricupTM.

Women with bleeding periods lose more than 80 mL of menstrual fluid per menstrual cycle, which means more than 20 mL per day. ClaricupTM size 3 is the most suitable as it can hold up to 36 mL, which should be enough to prevent leakage. ClaricupTM size 3 is the most appropriatea as it can hold up to 36 mL, which should be sufficient to prevent leakage. A Claricup size 3 has twice the capacity of a super-absorbent pad.

From the first menstruation, thanks to Claricup size 0, adapted to the anatomy of young girls.

The ClaricupTM is an intimate object, and for reasons of hygiene, we do not take back the ClaricupTM. But to guarantee us a good satisfaction of the product, we propose to send you back a new size free of charge if the first one is not the right one.

USE

The ClaricupTM inserts like a tampon. Do not be afraid! By folding it correctly you will have no trouble inserting it. If you are suffering from vaginal dryness, we recommend that you moisten it with water.

You can try the tulip fold (punch down), which makes insertion easier (compared to a U-fold), or moisten your ClaricupTM with bottled water.

We also advise you, for your first uses, to insert or remove your ClaricupTM in the shower: you will be able to crouch down or in the most comfortable position for you, without fear of staining yourself.

You have to relax, push with the perineum, and unbend the ClaricupTM by pinching its base or sliding your finger along the cup. We also advise you, for your first uses, to insert or remove your ClaricupTM in the shower: you will be able to crouch down or in the most comfortable position for you, without fear of staining yourself.

We are sincerely sorry that this has happened, please do not hesitate to contact us so that we can replace your ClaricupTM!

Don’t worry, the cup can’t get lost in you. The vagina is closed at the top by the cervix, an opening as small as a match head, so the ClaricupTM cannot go any higher.

The best is to relax and then push with your perineal muscles, as if you were going to the bathroom. This way, your cup will go down and you will be able to catch it. The crouching position helps to reach the cup.

Yes, nevertheless we recommend that you seek advice from your gynaecologist or midwife before wearing a menstrual cup with an IUD. Make sure that the IUD sutures have been cut short so that you do not pull on them by mistake when removing your ClaricupTM. When removing the ClaricupTM, be sure to loosen it before removing it.

There can be two main causes:

  • Your ClaricupTM is badly unfolded or badly positioned: it is worn at the bottom of the vagina, do not try to push it too high, like a tampon. To check if it is well unfolded, turn it on itself: if it turns well it is unfolded, if you have difficulties to turn it, move it from top to bottom and from left to right so that it unfolds. Relax and try turning it again.
  • The size of your ClaricupTM is not adapted: it may be too small and in this case it lets blood pass on the side. It may be too large and therefore badly unfolded, causing leaks.

Yes, no problem. There is no incompatibility because the ClaricupTM is worn at the bottom of the vagina, so it does not come into contact with the cervix.

Every woman and every birth is different. We advise you to wait for the return of your natural menstruation to reuse your ClaricupTM. If you are not breastfeeding they can occur 6 to 8 weeks after delivery. If you are breastfeeding they will come later, after you stop breastfeeding. Ask your gynecologist or midwife for advice.

WEARING TIME, TOXIC SHOCK SYNDROME OR INFECTION

We always base our recommendations on the most recent scientific knowledge. A previously unidentified risk, the risk of Toxic Shock Syndrome with menstrual cuts, encourages us to implement the precautionary principle and reduce the wearing time that we recommend. It is our duty to inform our clients of all the risks, even minimal, caused by wearing the menstrual cup.

Toxic Shock Syndrome is a serious and sometimes fatal disease. It is caused by a bacterium, Staphylococcus aureus, which is naturally present on the skin. Sometimes, this Staphylococcus aureus can develop in wounds or mucous membranes and produce a toxin that will cause the cessation of vital functions which can be fatal. Toxic Shock Syndrome came to light in the 1980s, after many American women lost their lives after wearing a super-absorbent tampon in which Staphylococcus aureus developed particularly rapidly.

If you have flu symptoms (fever, nausea, aches, pains, diarrhea, headaches…) and redness on your body (like a sunburn) during your period or shortly after, we recommend that you remove your tampon or menstrual cup and consult a doctor quickly.

For the moment only 2 cases of TSS with menstrual cuts are known in the world, which is much lower than the number of TSS related to tampons. Many studies are underway to better understand how this syndrome is triggered. Nevertheless, as a precautionary measure, we recommend that you do not wear your ClaricupTM for more than 6 hours.

No scientific studies have been published on the effect of menstrual cups on the vaginal flora but customer returns report fewer infections since wearing the menstrual cup due to its chemical neutrality.
